A mail autoresponder is an automatic reply that is sent out from your mail name when incoming mail is received. Autoresponders can include both a text message and attached files.
This mail function is often used by individuals who need an automated response because they are away, or unable to check their mail for any number of reasons.
One cautionary note - many e-mail spammers depend on a response to their message to confirm that they've reached a valid e-mail address, and using an autoresponder may facilitate this.

To create an autoresponder, click the Add New Autoresponder icon.
 |

First, enter a name (for your reference use) in the Autoresponder name field.
In the Request text box, you can decide if the autoresponder responds to specific text in the sender’s subject or body, or to all messages. If desired, enter the text in the Request text field and check the appropriate button.
You can specify a certain subject to appear in the subject field of your reply, or use the incoming subject in Answer with subject field.

|
If you’d like any replies made to your autoresponder message to come to a different address, enter it in the Return address field. Enter the text of your autoresponder message in the Reply with text field.
If you’d like to limit the number of replies your autoresponder will make to the same e-mail address, enter it in the first Limits field. You can also limit the amount of addresses the system will store for this function (both of these limits are usually used only by high-volume operations).
If you’d like the incoming messages that your autoresponder replies to to be forwarded to another address, enter it in Forward request to e-mail.
Click on OK to save your changes.

If you’d like to attach a file to your autoresponder, click on the Up Level link to go back to the Mail Autoresponders panel and click on Attachment Files. You’ll see this screen.
 |
|
Click on Browse to locate the file you wish to attach, and then Send File. Click on Up Level to go back to the Autoresponder panel, then scroll to the bottom, select the file from the list and click on Add New Attachments. Click on OK when done.
